I've been a little under the weather the past few days, but did I actually see a small portion of a Segal movie in which:

A) A man standing 50 feet away fires an arrow at him. During the time the arrow takes to reach our bloated hero, he reaches behind him, pulls out a sword, holds it above his head, and then cuts the arrow in 2. In flight?

B) Later, during the same fight, our doughy swordsman is hampered in his fight by a crazed woman sticking pins INT0 A VOODOO DOLL?

Did this really happen? Or were my meds acting up? What movie was this? I can't tell from IMDB because Segal now has so many films to his credit with titles that seemed to be randomly generated (Out for a Swim, View to a Target, etc..) that I can't tell which movie this was. And lastly, how has this movie NOT been captured on this site? or was it, and I just missed it?

It's from Belly of the Beast, one of the many recent DTV flicks he's been churning out. It's supposed to be one of the better ones from what I've read...tho9ugh that's not saying a great deal. It probably means that it's not as hilariously awful as Submerged and not as soul crushingly boring as the other things he's done recently.

Was it any fun? I've had loads of fun with most of Steven Seagal's DTV movies, since the times of "The Foreigner", but the last one I saw, "Black Down", was just awful. I'd say Seagal wasn't there half of the time, and the filmmaking smelled badly of "failed TV pilot".

Let's hope his next movies bring the cheese back, because most of his other DTC efforts are a riot.

I'm ashamed to admit I spelled his name wrong. But not very.

Seriously though, voodoo? I don't think that Van Damme sunk that far, and he starred in an action movie with Rob Schneider, where the plot revolved around illegal blue jeans.

Even better, the plot revolved around exploding illegal blue jeans. And it was a riot.

Someone should seriously deep-review Knock Off or Double Team, really.

Didn't the much earlier Marked for Death also have something to do with voodoo, though?

Yes but in Belly of The Beast it's sort of tacked on, in Marked for Death it's there for an actual (stereotypical) reason. :)

Hey guys,

Stevie is going to make a special apperance at the Chiller Theatre convention on June 3, 2005. The convention is held around the New Jersey Meadowlands, usually at the Sheraton Hotel across from it. He'll be there for signatures and autographs. I'm sure he charge something like $50 for one measly signature. Anyway, I dare someone to go up to him and ask to sign a printed copy of Ken Begg's review On Deadly Ground.
