Just for fun, does anyone know what that was? Hint: Fitchville, Ohio.
I'll bite.

It really surprises me that nobody has come up with a Kennedy conspiracy theory something like "John F. Kennedy was killed by the Mafia because they wanted to divert the attention of the public and the news media from the Golden Age Nursing Home frre. You see, there was this old man, a patient in the Golden Age Nursing Home, a retired brewmaster. He had been a bootlegger during Prohibition, and during World War II, he had bought black market, unrationed corn to keep his brewery open. So he had certain not-quite-nice connections. He knew that certain Midwestern CEOs were laundering money for the Mafia; now he was an old man, soon to meet his maker, he decided to blow the whistle; he contacted a local journalist or D.A. about doing so. The Mafia shot the President in Dallas to divert the public and the news media, then set the nursing home on fire." I DO NOT, REPEAT NOT, BELIEVE THIS, BUT I'M SURPRISED THAT NOBODY SEEMS TO. My theory as to why nobody has come up with such a theory-not many people, or at least, not many of the kind of people who cook up conspiracy theories, CARE about the plight of lonely, elderly people in nursing homes. |

You know, I've seen J.F.K. a number of times, and I still can't say who the heck killed Kennedy according to Oliver Stone and his writers.
I know the movie is infamous for its lack of concern about historical or proven facts, but I would feel slightly less stupid if I had extracted some reasonable conclusions of the whole thing.
As far as conspiracy theories go, James Ellroy does a far better job in his novel American tabloid, where he blames the mafia, who had expected to recover their properties in Cuba had Kennedy succeeded in preparing a real invasion. In the novel, when the Bahia de Cochinos fiasco occurs, all those mobsters feel everything but happy and they inmediately plan to murder JFK.
And I just noticed how strange message boards are. We started speaking of the situation in the Middle East and we end up sharing conspiracy theories on JFK. Internet rules! |
