Cool! I've always wanted to see a perfect 0 on the Tomtatometer. I hope they can keep up the momentum- eventually a couple retards will give it a good review.

Dear Movie Industry:

I am an adult, but my pre-school nephews have just discovered what Amazon.com is, and that Aunty Twitterpate can order movies from it in a desparate bribe attempt to keep them quiet while babysitting. Please produce movies they can watch in safety, and that will not drive me to slipping tequila into my own lemonade while watching with them. I don't think that's asking too much, do you?

Thank you.

Geez- when does the stealth marketing kick in? Or has it already...Man, you just know a movie's bad when even the paid hacks can't bring themselves to say something nice about it ;)

twitterpate- stick with Pixar (even Monsters, Inc.) and you'll be just fine.

Twitter, there's plenty of older movies to choose from. If you don't see something to your likeing, find some old Bugs Bunny cartoons, or even some Animaniacs. Hey, there's a reason why they say there's no school like the Old School.

Wow! Sounds like a natural for ol' Jabootu! Getting to hammer Chevy Chase and Tim Allen in one go.

Indeed. Might even rent the original Johnny Quest, Beanie and Cecil, Rocky and Bullwinkle, etc. Showed some of these classic old toons to a group of neighbor kids and they were happy and clapping throughout. Kind of brought a tear to Renfield's rheumy old eyes.

Twitterpate -- show them the 1960's version of The Haunting, or Quatermas and the Pit. That oughta hold the little buggers...

RVHorror - whoa, whoa, WHOA! Quatermass and the Pit? I'm just the aunt - we're talking about kids who weren't allowed to watch the DVD of the live-action Flash tv show I bought them, because it was "too violent". Some of these suggestions might solve my problems by getting me banned from all family gatherings.

... hmm, that WOULD save me money, and get me out of babysitting duty. Perhaps I should reconsider.

Last time I was stuck babysitting, I just showed them that movie Go Fish. The little tykes had several interesting questions for their parents after that.

And still holding at 0%. However, childrens movies tend to not get as many reviews, hence why Doogal has a higher tomato reading (5%) with about 40 some odd reviews. I doubt if Zoom with get many more reviews at this point, but you never know.

It will probably rack up a few more when it goes video. Will those reviews be any kinder? Probably not, but who wants to bet there'll be a couple that call it "underrated" or some such.

I'm an absolute sucker for the original Brave Little Toaster but some scenes may be too intense for the wee pre-school crowd.

When they're a year or two older, it should make perfect family fare.

And since you brought up the subject of movies that could get you banned from family gatherings, stay far away from Watership Down and The Plague Dogs. Especially The Plague Dogs. I can't tell you how many idiot video stores I've gone into where they kept those movies in the kiddie section. That would be one pajama party I'd not want to babysit.

I'm with Zombie on that one. The Plague Dogs was a fantastic movie (why don't they have the long version on DVD???), but it is not, I repeat, NOT for children.

You could always show them a Spongebob Squarepants tape. Just don't complain when they sing the Campfire Song song over and over and over and over and over....

Hell, you'd be surprised how many parents have no idea what's in Charlotte's Web.

Then there's the 1939 cartoon short, Peace on Earth. Not only does it freak out the children, but it is certain to destroy the mood in at any Christmas party.
