I disagree. I think he is cold-blooded. I wouldn't say he was concerned. But he was definately moved by what he saw.

I think that was the point. That the agony of war can move the most hardend of all of us.

By the way:

It always gets me that the Civil War actually spilled out that far in to the West.

Well, you learn something new every day.

Major spoilers in this one. You'll need to highlight it to see 'em....

Frankie Madson (Derek Jacobi) in Dead Again

Dr. Norman Spencer (Harrison Ford!) in What Lies Beneath

This one's a spoiler for those who haven't seen the movie, so I'll just hint at it:

The main villain from L.A. Confidential (1997)

and while we're on the subject

Keyser Soze (?) from The Usual Suspects (1995)

Granted, pretty much everybody here has seen both flicks. But just in case you haven't... ;)

Archibald Cunningham (Tim Roth) in Rob Roy - GREAT villian, and involved in what has to be considered one of the best swordfights of filmdom.

Skeletor (Frank Langella) from Masters of the Universe

Come to think of it, Meg Foster was no slouch as Evil-Lyn.

Aw, give the movie a break. Considering the source material it was based from, MOTU was a surprisingly good film. It was no award winner, certainly, but it was refreshingly intelligent and entertaining for a kiddie film. At least, that's the impression I got when I saw it on HBO way back when. And yes, Frank Langella really stole the show.

Here's another good one. David Warner as the Source Of All Evil in Time Bandits.

I CANT'T BELIEVE NOBODY HAS MENTIONED Charles Boyer in GASLIGHT!!!!!!
Incidentally, I have a problem with that film. Paula's evil husband is trying to drive her out of her mind, but he can't change the things she knew before she met him. She GREW UP in that house. She would have known, as a small child, that when the lights go down in one part of the house, it means they're going up in another part of the house. She would have known that that "z" of boards, nailed across the attic door, wouldn't keep anyone in or out because the attic door opened inward. She would have known that the attic was
accessible by way of the mews and the roof.

By the way, does anyone know WHY GASLIGHT was filmed as GASLIGHT? The title of the play was Angel Street and successful plays are usually filmed with the original title.

The picture itself was totally lousy, one of those cruddy made-for-tv British horror pictures like THE DEVIL'S WEB or A KILLER IN EVERY CORNER, but HE was ELECTRIFYING: Gary Collins in DIAL A DEADLY NUMBER.

I'm tempted to nominate David Carradine in Kill Bill. His Bill is such a smooth character; it's great watching an old hand like Carradine handle him. Yet he never lets things go too long before reminding us that, yes, he is the bad guy here.
And honorable mention to Daryl Hannah as Elle Driver. I don't know if she's quite as memorable as Bill, but she was having such a good time with the role that it's hard to forget her. And her character's just ice cold. Her scene with Budd in the trailer is priceless, especially

***SPOILER***

her reading off the facts about black mambas as Budd's in his death throes.

***END SPOILER***

I like this thread. I've seen a lot of villians and movies mentioned that I haven't seen, but now want to.

I too am flogging myself over forgetting Angel Eyes.

Two from a movie that's one of my all-time personal faves:

Don Raphael (Stuart Wilson) and Captain Love (Matt Lestcher) from The Mask of Zorro (1998)

I gotta ask, why has no one mentioned Barbara Steele? Black Sunday and Caged Heat, anyone?
