Numerous series have transitioned from R to PG-13 or PG. However, at least one series went the other route. Namely, Guyver 2 received an R despite the previous film having a PG-13 rating. Anyone know of other examples (excluding The Howling and Highlander, which went from R to PG-13 to R).
Guyver went direct to video. I do not hold that against it for this deliberation, since most films featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Steven Seagal, Dolph Lundgren, Wesley Snipes, and even Sylvester Stallone have gone straight to DVD in recent years. Also, In the Electric Mist went straight to DVD. |
