Even weirder is that he has an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I've got that CD.

It would actually be pretty good, except for the songs and lead singer.

As a French-Canadian myself, I hereby offer this translation of two of the most choke-inducing comments:

"We know Steaven Seagal via his movies, geared towards martial arts, and here we discover him as a singer. We have had a little preview in one of his movies: On Deadly Ground (which I recommend, by the way). And here we find our Seagal singing. A pure wonder. With a country style (meaning music from all countries, not western). We find tunes mixing the east, the far east, the west... This album is a pure wonder. An absolute must-have."

"I give this movie 5 out of 5 because I find Steaven Seagal's path praiseworthy. Finally a reasonable blockbuster and action ex-actor! This is a good conversion: Become an innofensive country singer rather than a dangerous California governor! I hope his example will inspire others (I'm thinking here of JCVD. No Jean-Caude, do not run for office in Belgium!)"

I swear I did not add anything in the translation.

Movie? Did the guy even know what it was he was reviewing?

The problem with that comparison is that there's no way in hell Schwarzenegger's a worse governer than Seagal is a singer. Or juice-maker, or game-show host, or whatever godforsaken thing he's planning next.

He's got a point though. How dare Arnold retire from show business and actually try to make himself useful, when he could be ineffecutally strumming a guitar instead.

I'd also like to add he's being a bit presumptuous. I mean, I'm an Amercan and even I have no idea how well Schwarzenegger is doing. How in the heck is a guy in France supposed to have his finger on the pulse of CA?

Of course, not hearing about him is probably a good thing considering how the media works in this country. All I can say in that I'm in LA at the moment and there isn't exactly widespread looting outside the hotel.

To borrow from Commissioner Gordon, a thought struck me. A thought so terrifying it I scarce dare give it utterance... what if we lived in a world where Arnold went into singing and Seagal into government? My mind refuses to even contemplate it...

You know, I can only think of the upsides of Schwarzenegger as Governor of California and Seagal being Governor of ... I don't know, Nevada. Then Chuck Norris could take office in Texas, Stallone could be the Mayor of New York and before you know it, politics would get a lot more interesting.

Hmm. I detect a faint whiff of spambot...

I found the CD to be a bit odd. There are some genuinely talented background artists and singers, who I hope were very well paid for their time. It's like finding a lump of coal in a gold box. If you could imagine, say, me performing an opera about software testing, backed by the Metropolitan Opera with Pavarotti singing backup, you're not far from how it feels to listen to this movie.
