Earlier tonight, I heard (no, not THAT) a CHRISTMAS COVER!!!
"Ho.... ho ho ho... ho ho.... you know Santa loves you, ho ho... ho ho...."
It sounded exactly like Led Zeppelin themselves. Oh the humanity! |

Ugh. Don't get me started on Christmas music. I can't stomach 99% of it. So of course I have a hard time during this season.
It never ceases to amaze me how a culture that's less than 1% Christian can be so into all the trappings of Christmas. Even worse, they mostly play modern "pop" Christmas tunes instead of the rather more tolerable classics. They especially seem to love that Most Evil of songs, George Michael's Last Christmas. I just want to hurl every time I hear it (which is often).
On a "lighter" note, I was sitting in KFC yesterday and heard on the speakers one of the most ridiculous Christmas songs I've ever heard, Koibito wa Santa Claus. Translated into English it comes out as "Santa Claus is My Lover". And yes, it's just that idiotic, and repetitive to boot.
I can't wait until January. |

| I thought Paul Westerberg's cover of "Sunshine" was pretty great. It showed what a great pop song the original was. |

| I hate to say it but I like Limp Bizkits versions of Behind Blue Eyes better than The Who's, which is surprising since I don't even like typing the name Limp Bizkit. |

I'm sorry, andy80, but I've had to send the kill squads after you. They should be there any minute. I promise it'll be quick and painless if you don't fight back.
I'm not a fervent fan of the Who, but suggesting Limp Bizkit is better than anyone at anything, other than making crappy "raprock" music that drains the will to live out of all who hear it, is madness. Society-threatening levels of madness. The kind that has to be put down before it's too late, for the good of us all.
------------- I too want to break stuff. Every Limp Bizkit CD in existence, for starters. |
