Dr. Who always showed that with wit, love and inventiveness you can overcome any budget limitation. Sure the Daleks, Cybermen, Yetti, Ice Warriors, Drashics, etc, were all cheesy, but one is so wrapped up in the story and characters that you still cared and scared. Movie producers should take note. The Twilight Zone is the same way. The monsters and effects were as cheap as possible. The show is a classic and still packs a wallop.

It's Coacoa Puffs, Bob. I have no idea why, but it fits the equation.

I somehow don't think the killer sheep are meant to be taken seriously.

God, The Crawlers...I still have nightmares about that movie.

Anyway, while the killer sheep might be a joke, we still have the Godmonster of Indian Flats, who was a giant mutant sheep that was surely meant to be taken seriously. It looked utterly ridiculous and fake; couple that with the fact that the guy in the suit could barely walk, and that all the mayhem results from people inexplicably panicking at the sight of the thing, rather than anything the monster actively does, and...well...let's just say the VW Spider from The Giant Spider Invasion comes off like the Tall Chap in comparison.

And there's always the Watermelon Monster...although that may not have been entirely serious, either.

I too am bumfuzzled by the Watermelon Monster.

Then, of course, there are the monsters so convoluted that even after you've seen the movie you're still not sure what they were.

The Keep.
